Creating 3D text

- First start by opening up photoshop and making a new canvas the size around 500x400.

- Then write text by using the Horizontal Type Tool in a greyish color in a font that fits in the image.

- Next right click on the text layer and select rasterize layer.

- Now by using the rectangular marquee right click on the text in the image and select Free Transform.

- Then right click on the text again and select perspective. Then change the angles of the text by dragging on the corner squares and make it so your looking at it from a top angle.

- Then duplicate that layer. Then click on the original layer. Hold Alt+Ctrl+Enter and press on the down arrow about 10 times. It should already start looking 3D but now we need to add some effects.

- Now hold ctrl and press E until all the layers under it are grouped together except the background layer and the layer you duplicated earlier which should be the first layer on top.

- Now double click on the middle layer which should be the 3D part of the text and the Layer Style should popup.

- Now change the Drop Shadow settings to match my settings.

- Now change the Inner Glow settings to match my settings.

- Now change the Gradient Overlay settings to match my settings.

- Then hit ok. It should now look something like this.

- Now double click on the top layer and its Layer Style options should popup.

- Now change the Inner Glow settings to match my settings.

- Now change the Gradient Overlay settings to match my settings.

- And there you have it, your own 3D text. Here is what my final product looks like.
